ECTOGRAM's "TALL THINGS FALLING" (Ankst CD 100) is out on MARCH 25th 2002
Released on Monday the 25th of March, "Tall Things Falling" is the third album from one of the truly great Ankst groups and is also our one hundreth release ! Uncompromising, totally original, out-there and increasingly influential, this new CD from ECTOGRAM contains some of the best music yet recorded by the group members Ann Matthews (voc/gtr), Alan Holmes (gtr) and Maeyc Hewitt (drums). Ectogram will be launching the album with two gigs and a live radio broadcast. The gigs are:
Saturday 23rd March at Hendre Hall, Tal-Y-Bont, BANGOR (support by Wendykurk & Nathan Carpathian)
Wednesday 27th March at The Dublin Castle, Camden, LONDON (support by Wendykurk)
In addition, they are scheduled to appear on Radio 1's Session In Wales on Thursday 21st of March (details T.B.C.)
WENDYKURK - "FRECKLES" E.P. (Ankst CD 101)
April will see the appearance of "Freckles" - the debut single from WENDYKURK, one of the most remarkable groups ever to have appeared on Ankst. Hailing from Holyhead, this youthful four piece have already caused a bit of a stir with their music, appearance and attitude. They describe themselves as making "angry avant rock". Group members Nomi, Mat, Ben and Nos are "edgy in the extreme, twisted and nervous, very stylised evil-cool people, deviant adolescents - pure, dark and true". WHAT'S COMING NEXT...........
CRYMI No. 1 - DVDZINE (Ankst 102)
CRYMI will hopefully be the world's first underground music DVD-zine and issue one will be given away free to coincide with the release of the above two releases. CRYMI will also be available free from the website. It is a Welsh language videofanzine with English subtitles and features the artists who have worked with Ankstmusik over the past two and a half years - videos, interviews, live tracks and much, much more.....
........MC MABON has started working on his new album which is going to be more acoustic in concept......

ZABRINSKI - "YETI" (Ankst 99)
Released before xmas, YETI is finally starting to receive the recognition it undoubtedly deserves (NME 8/10). The band are already working on tracks for a follow up E.P. to be released in late Spring and will be headlining a special London gig at theDublin Castle in Camden on Tuesday, March 5th.
ANKST MUSIK will be
releasing the new ZABRINSKI album 'YETI ' on Monday the 26th of November through
Shellshock distribution. YETI will be the follow up album to the band's self
released debut SCREEN MEMORIES which appeared in the winter of 2000. ( for

YETI features ten brand new recordings recorded in North and South Wales.
The tracks were produced by Recall, David Wrench ( Bryn Derwen Studios, Bethesda
) and Greg Haver ( Famous Studios, Cardiff )

ZABRINSKI's live shows have steadily garnered great acclaim and a feverish response from sections of the british music industry. Their concerts and radio sessions for John Peel and Radio 1 have consolidated their position as one of the best new bands in Britain.
Within Wales the band are rightly acknowledged to be ankst's latest rising stars and with YETI ankst musik hope to promote their music to the rest of the world.
The band will be hosting a special Zabsounds night in Cardiff at Clwb Ifor Bach on the 24th of November to send YETI on its way.

ANKST MUSIK are proud to announce the imminent arrival of a very special release. THE HUNT FOR MEANING by M C MABON will be the first English Language Concept Album released by Ankst. The album will be the second collection recorded by M C MABON for the Ankst Musik label .
Last year's mainly Welsh language debut album MR BLAIDD resulted in two Radio 1 radio sessions and a live appearance at the Radio 1 live in the City festival held in Cardiff last Autumn as well as putting M C MABON firmly at the front of the new generation of musicians coming from Wales .
THE HUNT FOR MEANING was conceived, composed , realised and brought to life by M C MABON main man GRUFF MEREDITH . Invited guests include Cardiff band ROCKET GOLD STAR and the U K CHINESE FESTIVAL ENSEMBLE as well as a host of guest rappers and singers who provide the many different voices that accompany Gruff on his journey through the album.
Already the NME has paved the way for the album's appearance by declaring that the band are 'going out of their heads' and that their style is 'completely mental' .The album is genuinely eclectic and innovative in style and structure. Lyrically M C MABON uses the English language skillfully with humour and intelligence . The album easily accommodates pop appeal with highly ambitious song concepts and genuine lyrical depth.
In simple terms the album follows Iago Prydderch as he rejects irony and western metaphysics as he goes on the hunt for life's meaning. Along the way he encounters aliens, disco divas, the Devil, a rap relay team, the aristocracy, Chinese folk musicians and even singing pigs before discovering the mysterious 'Fire Within' .
Already the reviews for the album have been phenomenal. The WESTERN MAIL said that M C MABON had created 'an album of indefinable and fearless proportions'.
